I hope you enjoy this collection of photographs and poems. The poems are written in the style of Inner Look poetry moved and influenced by the emotional quality and feeling of the images, the places, and spaces where they were taken and by the presence of the one who is looking. Many of the poems work to fuse our inner and outer worlds into a search for significance and meaning and where the past, present and future are operating at the same time. It is an approach to writing that has helped me work through many challenging, and inspiring aspects of life.
The
poems journey towards a place that cannot easily be described in words. Sometimes
a feeling, sometimes an experience and sometimes an intimation of that profound
space that lives inside all of us. A home
beyond desire and possession that connects with love, light, kindness, and the
absence of fear. A destination that is not without humor yet still leaves
questions to be answered.
I
would like to give credit here to the source of the Inner Look techniques
that I use in my writings. His name is Silo: Mario Louis Rodriguez Cobos,
an Argentine, writer and spiritual guide. To know more about this fascinating person click here and click here to read his book.
And
finally, I would like to thank my muse and fellow poets, photographers and
friends for their inspiration and encouragement. One of the greatest gifts that
one friend can give to another is a genuine interest in what they are doing
with their life.
Note: All photographs, digital images and poems by Ken Dickinson unless otherwise stated.
